Sununu on possible Trump arrest: ‘Democrats have played it wrong’

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) said Sunday that former President Trump could be arrested soon in the investigation into alleged hush payments during the 2016 presidential election.

“I think it creates a lot of sympathy for the former president,” Sununu said of the possible arrest on CNN’s “State of the Union.” The governor said some Republicans who aren’t “big Trump supporters” expressed concern that the former president was “being attacked.”

“I think that not only the media, but actually, many of the Democrats have misused this to sympathize with the former president, and that drastically changes the paradigm going into the 24th election,” Sununu said.
