Boston Celtics Guard Derrick White put together a spectacular putback and beat the buzzer to seal a dramatic 104-103 win. Miami Heat In game 6 Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday.
The Celtics’ improbable victory erased an 0-3 series deficit and left them on the brink of NBA history as no team (0-150) has ever won a playoff series after falling behind 0-3.
Marcus Smart’s 27-foot three-point shot bounced around the rim as the clock ticked away, before White appeared “like lightning,” as Jaylen Brown told reporters, grabbing the rebound and making a putback.
After Michael Jordan’s “The Shot” in 1989, White became the second player in NBA history to confirm that the buzzer turned red as the ball fell into the net. faces elimination.

“It was great. Everyone asked me, did you pull it off, and I was like, yeah, I think so, but it was so close, you never know,” White told reporters afterward. “We’re glad we won. We had to do it though, and we did it, and now it’s Game 7.
Miami overcame a nine-point deficit in less than four minutes early and took the lead with three seconds left on the clock when Jimmy Butler made three free throws, but the Celtics weren’t quite done yet.

Jayson Tatum added 31 points for the Celtics, while Brown and Smart added 26 and 24 points, respectively. Butler led the Heat with 24 points, but endured a rough night.

Boston will return to TD Garden for an all-Game 7 on Monday, with the winner playing the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals, which begin on June 1.
