Samsung's mobile head, TM Roh, has broken his silence about the company's plans with Galaxy AI in 2025.
Roe confirmed ET Telecom We already knew about Galaxy AI when the Galaxy S24 series was launched a few weeks ago. He said that despite huge investments in Galaxy AI's development, its features will remain free for customers until 2025. The question on everyone's mind is what will happen after 2025 when Galaxy AI stops being free. As it turns out, Samsung doesn't know.
Roh told the publication that the company has not made any decisions about Galaxy AI's financial future after 2025. However, he hinted at plans to introduce more powerful AI features to paying subscribers in the future.
“According to our analysis, there are different needs for mobile AI. Therefore, there will be consumers who are satisfied with using AI capabilities for free. There can also be customers who want more powerful AI capabilities and can pay for them. So, in future decision-making, we will consider all these factors,” said Ro. said.
The company has had more than a year to make a decision, so if there's anything to share, we're sure to ask for an update. Android Authority Samsung had previously reached out to the company about the future of Galaxy AI, but received no response from the brand.
Meanwhile, Roh paints a rosy picture for Galaxy AI in the coming months. He said the company plans to bring the technology to more than 100 million devices worldwide this year.
Samsung has already confirmed that the AI assistant will be coming to a set of older Galaxy flagships, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series in the first half of 2024. I guess the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 will include Galaxy AI features. All these devices could help Samsung reach the 100 million target for the launch of the Galaxy AI.
