American pop star Lizzo is not going to become famous anytime soon as she has assured her fans in her social media post.

The Grammy winner said last week that she was fed up with her appearance and character being targeted online and was “getting away from it”.

But he clarified in a new video: “When I say I'm quitting, I'm giving up any negative energy.”

The pop star has built her reputation on body positivity but has been accused of fat-shaming one of her dancers.

The singer — real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson — denied the allegations, as did others who filed a lawsuit last year alleging sexual harassment and a hostile work environment by her former dancers.

In the singer's “I'm Out” post on Instagram on March 30, she said she was “tired of putting up with everyone in my life and on the internet dragging me down.”

The news came just days after he performed to sold-out crowds in New York City and in front of three US presidents.

A lawyer representing the singer's former dancers criticized the decision to intervene at the event amid allegations against Lizzo.

In a new video posted to Instagram on Tuesday, Lizzo tried to set the record straight.

“The joy in my life that I'm not going to give up is making music, which connects people, because I know I'm not alone,” he said.

“By no means am I the only person who experiences the voice of negativity seeming louder than positivity.”
