A manslaughter investigation has been launched after seven people died aboard the Bayesian superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily.
Italian public prosecutor Ambrogio Cardozio, from the nearby town of Termini Imeris, said he had opened a preliminary investigation into manslaughter and negligent shipwreck. No specific suspects have been named yet.
At a press conference, lawyers were asked about the Bayesian panel’s responsibilities considering all but one.
Prosecutors said they were “focusing on this particular aspect”.
They “want to find out all the people as much as they know and to what extent.” [passengers] Warned.”
Tributes have been paid to Hannah Lynch, who died with her father on a superyacht.
Bayesian’s chief steward Sasha Murray, who was rescued from the boat, described Hannah as “a diamond in a sea of stars”.
“What most people may not have seen was the extraordinarily strong, deep and loving relationship he shared with his parents, whom he adored more than anything,” he added.
Morgan Stanley chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judith Bloomer, Clifford Chance attorney Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo also died on the boat.
Recap: Prosecutors say passengers could not have escaped because they were asleep
Prosecutors said the dead passengers were probably asleep, which is why they failed to escape.
Rafael Camarano, the lawyer in the case, suggested that “they were sleeping and the others weren’t.”
He was asked if anyone was there at that time to warn them.
Mr Cammarano said: “We are trying to ascertain precisely from the statements made during the investigation of the rest – this is a key point in the investigation.”

Diver Bayesian describes the tragic circumstances of the accident
A diver described the emotional moment when Hannah Lynch’s final body was pulled from the wreckage as they all stood and applauded as Hannah Lynch came ashore.
Inspector Vincenzo Nardoni, a diver guard from the fire brigade’s division in Naples, said: “It’s an emotional release, a relief of stress.
“Because stress is our daily diet. We work on call and emergencies and we intervene immediately. So stress is our baggage, it’s what we bring with us.
He added, “We had to reframe the scene from a different angle from the way we normally see it, and that made everything difficult.’
“Having already made assessments on the safe point to enter the boat, we entered the confined spaces. We found a safe place and entered from there.
“But inside it was a very chaotic place, with shelves and furniture swirling around us, and lots of mirrors reflecting our lights.
“All the bodies were in tight places, there was furniture on top of or next to them. They were all stuck there.

The head of the Palermo fire service, Bentivoglio Fiandra, said the boat capsized to the right and people tried to get to the other side, sheltering in cabins on the highest part of the wreck.

Why did the boat sink?
The ship was considered “unsinkable” by its manufacturer – the Italian shipyard Perini Navi.
According to Mr Kammarano, Bayesian was hit by a downspout, which are powerful winds from thunderstorms that spread quickly once they hit the ground.
Officials will inspect the safety equipment on board the sunken vessel.
Mr Cammarano was asked if there was a black box and if the chicks were left open.
He said that the investigators do not have the correct information about the black box and the first phase of investigation will look into it.
