Caitlin Clark Crashes 'SNL's Weekend Update & Michael Che Reads Self-Regarding Jokes

Michael Che is downed by basketball star Caitlin Clarke when she crashes Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” segment after the comedian made a sexist joke at his expense.

“The University of Iowa has announced that basketball star Kaitlyn Clark's jersey will be retired and replaced with an apron,” Chey said.

Che then introduced Clarke ahead of the WNBA draft, where she was expected to be the No. 1 overall pick.

“I'm a fan, Caitlin,” Che told the future WNBA star.

“Really, Michael? Because I heard that little apron joke you made,” Clark clapped back.

Clark called out the service for making too many jokes about women's sports, which the comedian tried to deny. Colin Jost said, “There's definitely a lot more,” Che exposed with a super-cut of his past comedies.

“Unlike Che, I support women,” Jost said, throwing her co-host under the bus.

Che said that Clark is a great basketball player and he can't play like him and the basketball champion can't tell jokes like him. Clark said that he had written some jokes and asked Che to read some of them to him.

“The Indiana Fever have the first pick in this Monday's draft, a reminder that the Indiana Fever is a WNBA team and not something Michelle Chey gave to dozens of women at Purdue University,” Chey read the joke.

Clark asked him to read a second one with Say reading, “Best new show on Netflix Ripley, features a strange, unsettling performance by actor Andrew Scott. Critics say it's the hardest thing to watch on Netflix since Michael Say's special Shame the devil.”

Che read a third joke at his expense, “Caitlin Clark broke the record for three-pointers in a season, and I have three-pointers for Michael Che: 1. Be. Funny 3. Dumbass.”

After the self-roasting, Che congratulated Clarke in the WNBA. The basketball star paid tribute to the women who came before her, including Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, Cynthia Cooper, Dan Staley and her own basketball star, Maya Moore.

“These are the women I kicked down the door to get in. So I want to thank them tonight for laying the groundwork,” Clarke added.

Clark then presents Chev with an armband, which he autographs SNL “You don't have a girlfriend, Michael,” Starr said, giving Clark a reminder.
