Welcome to Week 14 Grades!
For the third time this season, the NFL hosted a Monday night doubleheader, and it could go down as the best Monday doubleheader in NFL history. In New York, the Giants stunned the Packers with a 38-yard field goal as time expired in a 24-22 win.
In Miami, the Titans overcame a 14-point deficit in the final three minutes to pull off a miracle win over the Dolphins, 28-27. To give you an idea of how unlikely a Tennessee win is, consider these numbers:
- NFL teams have lost 642 straight games when trailing by 14 points in the final three minutes.
- Teams are now 4-2,074 when trailing by 14 or more points in the final 3 minutes over the last 20 seasons. That’s four wins compared to 2,074 losses (the last team to pull off a similar comeback was the Saints in 2017).
- The Titans are the first team in NFL history to come back by 14 points or more in the final three minutes to win in regulation.
- The last time such a comeback happened in a Monday game was Peyton Manning’s famous comeback with the Colts in 2003. In that game, the Colts trailed 35-14 with four minutes remaining before winning 38-35 in overtime.
- It was the biggest loss in the league since the 2021 Colts-Jacks regular season finale.
This game also created a lot of excitement. The Titans entered Miami with a 14-point deficit, the largest point spread in two years.
