New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) said Sunday that former President Trump could be arrested soon in the investigation into alleged hush payments during the 2016 presidential election.
“I think it creates a lot of sympathy for the former president,” Sununu said of the possible arrest on CNN’s “State of the Union.” The governor said some Republicans who aren’t “big Trump supporters” expressed concern that the former president was “being attacked.”
“I think that not only the media, but actually, many of the Democrats have misused this to sympathize with the former president, and that drastically changes the paradigm going into the 24th election,” Sununu said.

You know, where do we want this country to go, what do we need to do to get things done, how do we manage our budget? There are other issues that really take priority in managing, how to secure the border,” Sununu said.

Sununu said he is considering his own presidential bid for 2024, and while he did not confirm his campaign on Sunday, he said “I would like to be in the debate if we really go down that road.”
