Tornado Watch, Severe Storm Warnings issued for SE Michigan

The Storm Prediction Center has put southeastern Lower Michigan and southern Ontario at a slight risk for severe storms Sunday. Thunderstorms are expected across Southeast Michigan between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The main threats from those storms are damaging winds (between 60-70 mph), rapid spin-up tornadoes and golf ball-sized hail.

  • A Tornado Watch Wayne, Washtenaw, Monroe and Lenawee counties are in effect until 11 p.m

  • A Severe Thunderstorm Watch Macomb, Oakland, Livingston, Lapeer, St. Clair, Genesee and Sanilac counties until 11 p.m

  • A Severe Thunderstorm Warning Valid in Wayne, Livingston, Monroe and Washtenaw counties.
